Contributions for GitLab – Privacy Policy

"Contributions for GitLab" is a LaMetric app that displays public GitLab activity on your LaMetric device. It is an independent project, not affiliated with or endorsed by GitLab Inc. or LaMetric.

Data we receive

• The GitLab username and, optionally, the public project you enter in the app settings. Your LaMetric device sends them to our service each time it refreshes the app.

Your LaMetric device sends these settings directly to our service, so the request also carries your network's IP address and the device's software version, as with any internet request. We do not use them, and we do not receive your name, email address, LaMetric account details or any GitLab credentials.

How we use it

The username and project are used only to fetch publicly available data from gitlab.com (your contribution calendar and public project statistics) and to format it for your LaMetric display. All requests to GitLab are anonymous: the app never accesses private data.

Storage and retention

We do not keep a database. Responses may be cached for up to a few minutes to limit load on GitLab, then discarded. Errors may be logged temporarily for troubleshooting.

Third parties

• Cloudflare hosts the service (Cloudflare Workers) and processes requests under its own privacy policy.
• GitLab (gitlab.com) is queried for public data under its own privacy policy.
• LaMetric operates the app store and device platform under its own privacy policy.

We do not sell, share or use your data for advertising or analytics. No cookies are used.

Your choices

You can stop all data processing at any time by removing the app from your LaMetric device. What appears on your GitLab profile is controlled in your GitLab settings (Preferences → Profile).
